Turn around times
When people book in with me I have always given predicted turn around times. However, recently it has become more apparent that this doesn’t work within the resin business. Not only does it put massive pressure on us as resin artists to meet these turn around times, but it also brings disappointment to clients where the turn around times are not met. I created this business to create lovely keepsakes, not to feel pressure and quickly get the products out of the door. This is not what this business is about. I will give a minimum ‘turn around time’ of 4 months, obviously this could change in quieter months.
Important information regarding your flowers
It is the clients responsibility to ensure that the flowers arrive to us in good condition. A packaging guide will be provided and should be followed for best results. I cannot be held responsible for any damage that occurs to the flowers whilst they are in transit. The recommended method for posting is currently Royal Mail special delivery guaranteed by 1pm. I cannot be responsible if the flowers do not arrive in good condition or arrive wilted/dead. If there is a delay with Royal Mail, this is also out of my hands. I do not provide packaging labels or boxes. I couldn't possibly store the amount of sized boxes that would be needed for each individual order. When sending us your flowers you are trusting us with them. I will use as many flowers as I can within your chosen pieces. I will only dry out enough flowers for the chosen moulds that have been agreed before sending your flowers. I am unable to return any left over flowers to you. If your flowers contain any large flowers that are unable to fit within the chosen moulds comfortably I will contact you to discuss this. When sending us your flowers you are agreeing to understand that some flowers do change colour and/or shape when they dry . They may change turn and/or shrink as they dry . White flowers are the most delicate and could turn a more cream colour and sometimes the yellow pigments will come through. Light pinks and purples can also change into each others shade or appear darker than they were. Lisuanthus are the flower which changes its tone of colour the most. We cannot preserve succulents due to the amount of water that they hold. If you are unsure about your flowers then please feel free to send us an email/message to discuss this. Please make sure to check your junk folder if you’re waiting on a reply. Once you have received your piece/pieces it is worth noting that if they are placed in direct sunlight then the colour of the flowers preserved could fade. Once set within the resin bubbles can form on the flowers. This is not counted as a deflect and is not grounds for a refund.
Adding charms/photos and other sentimental items
If adding charms/photos or any other sentimental items then this must be mentioned when booking. It is the clients responsibility to ensure that the additional items are packaged correctly in a separate container to the flowers and labelled appropriately . I cannot be responsible for missed/lost items if not mentioned when booking or if not packaged correctly . The client must accept that the product is totally handmade so imperfections may occur and should be accepted as part of a handmade product. If the client would like a laminated photo encased then there might be a chance that the photo may have a small section where the photo didn't laminate 100% and this isn't discoverable until it is placed within the resin. This will show as a small shadow on the photo. With this being out of my control it is not counted as a defection and is not grounds for a refund. I will do my best to ensure that it does not
happen. If you are having a photo charm encased, I cannot be held responsible if the photo isn't properly encased and resin leaks onto the photo causing it to blur. It is down to the client to ensure proper encasing of the photo before sending. If the photo blurs this is not grounds for a refund. If you would like beads/diamantés encasing then please note that some do not show as well in resin and could also disappear. Ribbon could also appear darker within the resin, as if it is being dipped in water.
Resin notice
Please be aware that every stage of the process is done by hand. There may be some imperfections which are out of my control such as micro bubbles, dust or some micro-cavities. The resin will also be poured in layers which creates ‘layer lines’. This is unavoidable for any resin artist and it does not
distract from the overall piece. All of these outlined are not counted as defects and are not ground for a refund. The medium letters ‘C, F, J, O, P, S, U’ are not freestanding and need additional furniture dots to help them to stand. After they have been applied they may also need additional support to help stand, especially the ‘P’ and ‘J’. The sides of the pieces will not be as shiny as the front. All shapes are created to be forward facing and may sometimes have an uneven back due to the flowers being too large for the moulds. This is not a defect and is not grounds for a refund.
The freestanding frame is a frame that freestands. It will have furniture dots applied to the bottom. The frame does not come with glass or a stand on the back. The photo will be secured with glue dots and the frame will freestand.
Payment and pricing
A £10 booking fee will be taken at the time of booking. This is to cover the costs relating to administrative tasks, communication efforts in answering any questions you may have and the labour involved in processing your order and drying your flowers. When booking with me you understand that this is not deducted from final fee. The remaining balance is payable when we come to begin your order. This is around 4 months after receiving your flowers. When payment is received we will then begin your order. Late payment simply delays the time it takes us to begin your order. From time to time I will update my prices inline with the rising costs of materials used. You will only pay the cost of the items quoted at the time of booking.
Communication during the process
I understand the excitement you must feel in receiving your flowers back preserved into wonderful keepsakes, however the more time I spend answering emails, the less time I'm spending on creating the pieces. I cannot give updates if there aren't any. Below I will outline the communication during the whole process: I will confirm when I receive your booking fee (you will also receive a confirmation via email). I will send a message around 3 weeks before your date to discuss your order/flowers and provide the packaging guide. I will send a message around 48 hours before your date to check in. I will confirm when I have received your flowers and the next time you hear from me will be payment is due. The next time you hear from me is when your pieces are complete. I will send a photo of your items before they are shipped and will confirm your postal address also.
Tealight holders
I have decided to offer Tealight holders. Tealight holders must not be exposed to heat and I only recommend them being used with fake Tealight candles. If any damage is done to the Tealight holders due to candles then I cannot be liable.
Shipping
I will ship your items via Royal Mail tracked 48. Please be aware that it can take longer for your items to be shipped during busier months. I can only track with Royal Mail when your item hasn't attempted delivery for 10 days. I cannot be held responsible for lost items.
Refunds
On the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your item and there is a genuine deflect with your piece then the piece would need to be returned to us for us to rectify the problem. A partial refund of 30% will be offered if the fault cannot be fixed. If the problem is rectified then no refund will be given. If you are unhappy with your order then it can be returned to us for a 100% refund. If you have any questions regarding these terms and conditions then feel free to email me at samantha@preservedwithresin.co.uk . Please note that the email back could go into your junk folder, so please keep an eye on that.
Thank you,
Samantha , Preserved with resin.
Jewellery
When jewellery items are ordered then it is the responsibility of the customer to provide the correct size needed. It is not fault of the company if the jewellery item does not fit. This is not
grounds for a refund. We recommend that customers send their inclusions via tracked 24 delivey. It is the customers responsibility to track the parcel. Preserved with resin cannot be held responsible if the parcel is lost in transit by a third party company (royal mail etc). Custom designs and gold jewellery can take up to 10 weeks to create and process. Sterling
silver 925 jewellery will have a turn around time of approx 3 weeks. If your jewellery contains flowers it could take up to 3 weeks because of the drying time needed to dry them before
they are placed within the resin. If providing hair, please note that lighter hair would become transparent on a light colour background, so a dark colour background would be advised. If the hair is of a darker tone then a lighter background would be advised.
Colours use may differ from phone screens and computer screens from real life. However, all photos will be taken in natural light so that a true reflection of the colour can be seen. Payment for jewellery items will be at the time the order is placed. This is so that the jewellery item can be ordered from the supplier direct and then we can begin creating as soon as received.
Due to items being handmade and personal, we do not offer refunds or exchanges. Items will be posted back to the customer via tracked 24 or tracked 48 delivery unless the
customer requests a different method prior to the item being sent. All items will be sent via royal mail delivery.
Caring for your items
Only clean with a polishing cloth.
Remove jewellery item when swimming, showering, bathing.
Do not leave jewellery item exposed to sunlight for long periods of time. For example left on a shelf in the sunlight.
